Hi, I'm Alex
I'm a software engineer, writer, photographer, and 3D artist in London, UK.
I enjoy functional programming, but I'm pretty open to giving most things a go. Most recently I was working at Multiverse doing Elixir and Typescript, and before that I was at Expedia doing functional Scala. I'm open to hearing about most fullstack or backend roles at small, mission-driven companies.
I've been doing photography for a long time, and over the last few years have been honing my skills in street photography, both in London and further afield.
I enjoy making 3D art in Blender, particularly environmental and science-fiction concept art.
I love writing and reading, and do lots of creative writing in my time when I'm not working. There's not much of it online (yet) but check out my project Ooh Spooky on Substack if you like spooky fiction mixed with research into conspiracies and modern folktales.
Diving in to the strange and unknown, all from the comfort of your inbox. A semi-regular newsletter consisting of part-fiction, part-research, exploring the mysterious, the spooky, and the perplexing.
I'm open to hearing about new opportunities, and prefer to be sent job specs up front. LinkedIn is the best place to reach out with professional enquires. If it's about anything else, please DM me on Instagram.
I'm available to hire freelance under my business FELD. We specialise in websites for small businesses, as well as general IT consulting and advice.
